Architect - Co Mayo 

We are seeking a talented and design-focused Architect with strong experience in residential architecture to join our team in County Mayo. The successful candidate will work on a variety of housing projects, including bespoke one-off houses, extensions, and small-to-medium scale residential developments. This role requires strong design capability, technical proficiency, and hands-on experience with AutoCAD and Irish planning/building regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or contribute to the design and delivery of residential projects from concept through to construction.

  • Prepare design proposals, planning applications, and tender packages in line with client and planning requirements.

  • Produce accurate architectural drawings, models, and specifications using AutoCAD and other design tools.

  • Coordinate with engineers, QS, contractors, and planning authorities throughout project lifecycle.

  • Attend site meetings and carry out site inspections during construction phases.

  • Ensure compliance with Irish Building Regulations, BCAR, Part L, and other statutory requirements.

  • Manage project documentation, planning submissions, and building control compliance records.

  • Liaise directly with clients to understand and translate their vision into a practical, cost-effective solution.

  • Prepare feasibility studies, site assessments, and outline design proposals.

  • Deliver projects to agreed timeframes and budgets, maintaining high design and technical standards.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Registered Architect with the RIAI 

  • Degree in Architecture (ARB/RIAI accredited).

  • Minimum 3–5 years post-qualification experience with a focus on residential projects in Ireland.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other design software (SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Suite an advantage).

  • Strong understanding of Irish planning legislation, building regulations, and BCAR process.

  • Demonstrated experience with Part L compliance and low-energy housing design (NZEB desirable).

  • Excellent design, technical drawing, and detailing skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing client relationships.

  • Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Full, clean driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with local authority housing or AHB schemes.

  • Familiarity with SEAI grant processes or passive house design.

  • Experience preparing tender packages, working drawings, and site supervision.
