Your Role Will Involve:

  • Leading and supporting the Accounts Payable team to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Managing supplier relationships and ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing.
  • Overseeing the review, approval, and processing of invoices in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring and reconciling vendor accounts, ensuring accuracy of payments and resolving discrepancies.
  • Acting as the primary escalation point for vendor queries and complex payment issues.
  • Driving process improvements and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and controls within the Accounts Payable function.
  • Ensuring accurate and up-to-date maintenance of accounts payable records, vendor files, and payment documentation.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, including reporting and reconciliations.
  • Collaborating with Finance, Commercial, and Project teams to ensure effective financial controls and reporting.
  • Assisting with audits, compliance requirements, and other finance-related projects as required.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to achieve departmental objectives and support career progression.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 5+ years' experience within Accounts Payable, including experience in a senior or supervisory capacity.
  • Previous experience within the construction, engineering, or contracting sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable principles, controls, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a finance team.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
