Assistant Project Manager

Salary & benefits: Salary of up to €60,000 + Company Vehicle, Fuel Allowance, Pension & Bonus

We are working with a leading construction company who are looking for a driven and capable Assistant Project Manager to join our expanding project delivery team. This is a great opportunity for a construction professional looking to develop their career while gaining hands-on experience across the planning, coordination and delivery of major projects.

Working alongside the Project Manager and wider site team, you will support the successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion. You will play an important role in coordinating project activities, monitoring progress, managing risk and maintaining high standards across Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.

The successful candidate will be organised, commercially aware and confident working with a range of stakeholders, with a strong focus on Zero Harm, Zero Defects and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Coordinate project reporting, team meetings and the management of allocated work packages.
  • Support the Project Manager with the planning and delivery of construction and design activities.
  • Lead by example and promote high standards of professionalism, safety and performance across the project team.
  • Support the management of HSEQS requirements, challenging unsafe or inefficient practices and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures and project protocols are consistently followed and effectively communicated to site teams.
  • Assist with the coordination of project teams, identifying risks and ensuring project objectives and client requirements are met.
  • Assist in the preparation, development and implementation of Project Execution Plans.
  • Promote a strong quality culture, with a focus on delivering works right first time and minimising defects and snags.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and other key project stakeholders.
  • Support clear and consistent communication across both internal project teams and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of the HSEQS Plan, ensuring project standards are maintained.
  • Review RAMS alongside the Project Manager and ensure appropriate control measures are in place before works commence.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are implemented and that activities are properly coordinated across the site.
  • Monitor project progress and performance against the agreed Project Execution Plan and programme.
  • Identify potential issues and take appropriate action to maintain project progress and delivery.
  • Support the implementation of the Quality Plan, ensuring Package Owners understand their responsibilities, deliverables and interfaces.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating project close-out, handover activities and resource requirements in line with the project programme.
  • Ensure ITPs are properly implemented by Package Owners and that required inspection and hold points are clearly identified.
  • Promote quality standards across the project team and ensure NCRs are raised and managed where works do not meet the required standard.
  • Support procurement activities and assist with the onboarding and briefing of trade contractors through pre-start meetings and project requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction, Engineering or a Diploma in Building & Construction or a related discipline.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in construction, engineering, planning, operations or a related project delivery role.
