Senior Sustainability & Environmental Advisor
Role Overview
The Senior Sustainability & Environmental Advisor will support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and continual improvement across construction and civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support environmental management and ISO 14001 compliance.
- Deliver initiatives covering decarbonisation, circular economy, biodiversity, and climate adaptation.
- Identify environmental risks and opportunities and develop mitigation plans.
- Prepare environmental and sustainability reports, KPIs, and project documentation.
- Support BREEAM, LEED, WELL, and other environmental assessments.
- Deliver environmental training and awareness to project teams.
- Provide environmental and sustainability input to tenders and PQQs.
- Engage with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
- Support environmental improvement programmes and project delivery.
Requirements
- Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years' environmental or sustainability experience within construction or civil engineering.
- Working towards or holding relevant professional membership.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, ISO 14001, carbon reduction, and circular economy principles.
- Experience with sustainability reporting and carbon calculations.
- Experience preparing management plans, risk assessments, and environmental documentation.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
