Senior Quantity Surveyor - Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon
- Long-term position based in Roscommon
- Salary up to €75,000 + DOE
A well-established and growing Electrical Contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. This is a senior-level role responsible for managing project costs, supporting commercial strategy, and ensuring electrical projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients, contractors, and senior management, while also mentoring junior commercial staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for electrical construction projects
- Prepare tender documentation and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
- Evaluate bids where required
- Manage contracts, including payment applications and resolution of contractual issues
- Identify and mitigate cost risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify opportunities to optimise project costs without compromising quality or functionality
- Provide commercial and cost advice to senior management and Contracts Managers
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, health & safety standards, and legal requirements
- Manage live project forecasts and track budgets from project inception to completion
- Monitor and report on project costs, progress, and budget/schedule variances
- Oversee and support Junior Quantity Surveyors, including regular 1-to-1 meetings
Qualifications:
- A third level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction related
- Chartered status or working towards chartership is desirable
