The successful candidate will be highly organised and methodical, with a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, drive technical solutions, and maintain clear communication across all stakeholders. This role requires a strong presence on-site and the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Coordination & Design Management
Lead the coordination of architectural, structural, and MEP design information
Review drawings, specifications, and models to ensure consistency, accuracy, and buildability
Manage the flow of design information in line with the project programme
Chair and contribute to design coordination meetings and workshops
Ensure all technical submissions are reviewed and approved in a timely manner
Stakeholder & Team Management
Act as the key interface between the site team, design team, subcontractors, and client representatives
Manage relationships with consultants, ensuring clear communication and accountability
Support and mentor junior engineers and site staff
Coordinate specialist subcontractors and ensure alignment with design intent
Programme & Delivery
Work closely with the Project Manager and planning team to ensure technical deliverables align with the construction programme
Identify potential clashes, delays, or risks and implement mitigation strategies
Monitor progress of design deliverables and highlight any deviations
Quality & Compliance
Ensure all works comply with project specifications, Irish building regulations, and relevant standards
Support quality inspections and ensure technical compliance on-site
Assist with BCAR processes, including documentation and certification requirements
Health & Safety
Promote a strong health and safety culture across all project activities
Ensure all design elements consider safe construction methodologies
Support implementation of site safety procedures and risk assessments
Commercial Awareness
Support value engineering exercises to optimise cost and efficiency
Understand commercial impacts of design decisions and coordinate accordingly
Assist in managing variations related to design changes
Requirements
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
5–10+ years’ experience in a similar role within a main contractor or large-scale construction environment
Proven track record on complex building projects (residential, commercial, or mixed-use)
Strong technical knowledge across multiple disciplines (structural, architectural, MEP)
Excellent organisational and coordination skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritise workloads effectively
Strong communication and leadership capabilities
