Quantity Surveyor - Mayo
Role Summary & Requirements
We are seeking Quantity Surveyors with 2–10 years’ experience to join a project team delivering major wastewater treatment plant projects across the Mayo region. The role will be based in onsite, with a long-term pipeline of work over the next 5–7 years.
This is an excellent opportunity for Quantity Surveyors at different stages of their careers, from experienced QS professionals to those looking to develop their commercial and project management skills within the water and infrastructure sector.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
- 2–10 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying or a relevant commercial role.
- Experience within civil engineering, utilities, water, infrastructure or construction is desirable.
- Strong understanding of cost management, procurement and contract administration.
- Good numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant QS/commercial software.
- Chartered or working towards chartership is desirable but not essential.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
- Prepare valuations, payment applications, cost reports and financial forecasts.
- Assist with procurement, tendering and subcontractor selection and management.
- Prepare and manage subcontract documentation, payments, variations and final accounts.
- Support the administration of main contracts and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Identify and manage commercial risks, opportunities and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with measurement, cost planning, value engineering and cost control.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors, clients and consultants to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting.
