Commercial Manager - Dublin - Head office based.
Role Summary
The Commercial Manager will lead the commercial function across multiple projects, managing a team of Quantity Surveyors and ensuring projects are delivered successfully, on time and within budget.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience at Senior QS level with a Tier 1 contractor, or current Commercial Manager experience.
- Proven track record delivering complex projects up to €100m.
- Chartered MSCSI/MRICS or working towards chartership.
- Strong commercial, organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant QS/commercial software.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the commercial function across multiple projects, ensuring effective cost control, forecasting, cash flow and financial reporting.
- Manage and administer main contracts, including variations, claims, compensation events, notices, payment applications and final accounts, ensuring contractual compliance and protection of commercial entitlements.
- Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, tendering, valuations, payments, disputes and cost control across all work packages.
- Identify and implement value engineering and cost-saving opportunities while managing project risks and opportunities.
- Act as the key commercial contact for clients, consultants and project stakeholders, building strong relationships while protecting the commercial position.
- Lead, mentor and develop Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff, supporting recruitment, performance management, training and career progression.
- Promote best practice, accountability and continuous improvement across commercial operations.
