The Role

As a PLC Programmer, you will be responsible for developing, testing and commissioning industrial automation and control systems from initial specification through to client hand over.

You will:

  • Develop and modify PLC programs using Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley
  • Program and configure HMI/SCADA systems
  • Integrate VFDs, servo drives, robotics, sensors and safety systems
  • Work with industrial networks including PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and Modbus
  • Carry out software testing, simulation, FAT and SAT
  • Troubleshoot and commission systems on client sites
  • Optimise automation systems to improve performance, reliability and safety
  • Read and work from electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Produce technical documentation and support projects through to completion

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in PLC programming, automation or controls
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or a related field
  • Strong PLC programming experience
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA
  • Knowledge of industrial automation, drives, robotics and control systems
  • Experience in commissioning and fault finding
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
  • Willingness to travel internationally when required
