The Role
As a PLC Programmer, you will be responsible for developing, testing and commissioning industrial automation and control systems from initial specification through to client hand over.
You will:
- Develop and modify PLC programs using Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley
- Program and configure HMI/SCADA systems
- Integrate VFDs, servo drives, robotics, sensors and safety systems
- Work with industrial networks including PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and Modbus
- Carry out software testing, simulation, FAT and SAT
- Troubleshoot and commission systems on client sites
- Optimise automation systems to improve performance, reliability and safety
- Read and work from electrical and mechanical drawings
- Produce technical documentation and support projects through to completion
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in PLC programming, automation or controls
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or a related field
- Strong PLC programming experience
- Experience with HMI/SCADA
- Knowledge of industrial automation, drives, robotics and control systems
- Experience in commissioning and fault finding
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Willingness to travel internationally when required
