Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Advisor to join our dynamic construction company in the North East covering Dublin, Louth and Meath. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, promoting a positive safety culture on-site, and reducing risks across all projects. This is a vital role that supports safe work practices, incident prevention, and regulatory compliance in a high-risk industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and enforce company health and safety policies and procedures across all active sites.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; report findings, and implement preventive measures.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Develop and deliver health and safety training sessions and toolbox talks for site personnel.

  • Collaborate with site managers, project managers, and subcontractors to promote and maintain a strong safety culture.

  • Assist with the preparation and review of method statements, risk assessments (RAMS), and site safety plans.

  • Keep accurate records of safety performance, audits, training, and incidents.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for health and safety issues, both internally and with external agencies.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement in safety standards across the company’s construction sites.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Level 7 or equivalent health and safety qualification (essential).

  • Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction industry.

  • Thorough knowledge of construction health and safety legislation 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to influence and engage workers at all levels.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and incident reporting systems.

  • Full driving license (or relevant to location) and willingness to travel to multiple sites.
