The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Dublin team and take commercial ownership of a key major project in the Dublin region.

Working closely with the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in driving the project's commercial performance, providing robust cost management, commercial reporting and strategic support throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS looking to take greater commercial responsibility while working on significant and complex projects within a growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the commercial management and reporting of the project.
  • Monitor and manage project costs, budgets, forecasts and overall financial performance.
  • Work independently while maintaining close collaboration with the Managing Quantity Surveyor and wider project team.
  • Manage key client, consultant, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Prepare, review and manage commercial documentation, including valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Provide accurate and timely commercial reporting to support senior management decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider project team to ensure successful commercial and operational delivery.

Requirements

  • 8–10 years' Quantity Surveying experience, ideally gained with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Irish contractor.
  • Experience across residential, commercial or large-scale construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Degree qualified, ideally with a BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Strong commercial management, cost control and financial reporting experience.
  • Demonstrable experience managing the commercial aspects of major projects.
  • Ability to operate independently while working effectively within a senior project team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant QS software and Microsoft Office.
